MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. He has made major global inroads into the Latin pop scene. In 2016, his hit Una Lady Como Tu was the recipient of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for the most popular Song in the year 2017. His debut album ADN was issued by La Industria Inc., which is a Medellin-based Sony distribution firm. The album reached the top of the charts at number eight in the Top Latin Albums charts. Vaina Loca was A Top Five hit for Ozuna as well as him the year following. In the year 2020, he teamed up with Noriel on Mala Influencia and dropped the album Dopamina within the year following. The singer appeared in 2021 performing a duet TINI on her streaming smash track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was first released in 2023. Turizo was born into a family of musicians his mother and older brother have been musicians. Turizo has told interviews that music is a must. As a child he learned to play ukulele, saxophone and piano. Although his first choice of career was becoming a vet, his brother Julian encouraged him to enroll in singing lessons with an Cuban teacher. The end result of recognizing his gift as a singer altered the direction of his life.
