Audrey Justine Tautou is a French actress and model who became famous with her portrayal of an eccentric and shy waitress in her romantic comedic film Amelie which won her several prizes and awards. Tautou was often compared to Audrey Hepburn, due to the mix of beauty, charismatic acting and talent. The profession of acting was not an ideal career for the pretty dark-haired girl born into a lineage of intellectuals her father worked as a dentist as well as her mother teaching. It was a lucky coincidence that she caught the acting bug while at school, and eventually decided to pursue a career as a professional actor. She took acting classes at Cours Florent.
